Athena Capital Dayal and Golan will source tech investments for Athena Capital, in particular cybersecurity, AI, software, and healthcare, the firm said in a statement. Dayal was previously a partner at SoftBank Vision Fund, where she led late-stage investments in high-growth technology companies and served on numerous portfolio company boards. Earlier in her career, she was an investor at Fortress Investment Group in its private equity business and spent more than 10 years in Goldman Sachs’s Investment Banking Division. She holds a BA in economics from Princeton University. With more than 30 years of experience in the technology sector, Golan previously served as CEO of Sygnia, a Tomasek portfolio cyber technology and services company. He also led Oosto, a SoftBank portfolio company, where he guided its exit to Metropolis.ai. Prior to that, he served in executive and investment roles at SoftBank Vision Fund, Google, Intuit, and Air New Zealand, where he led teams and drove technology-driven growth strategies. Raymond James Johnson, who operates under the banner of Johnson Private Wealth, is based in Mooresville, North Carolina. He is joined by senior client service associate Kristin Johnson. Previously, he worked at Edward Jones, where he managed more than $140 million in client assets. Fortress Investment Group She brings more than 15 years of experience working with financial advisors across the Upper Midwest region on alternative investment products. Most recently, Wallace was a regional sales director at Ares Wealth Management Solutions; before that, she was an alternatives specialist at Franklin Templeton. Wallace holds an MBA from W P Carey School of Business and a BA from Arizona State University. Set up in 2022, the private wealth solutions group offers products via financial advisors. The business has raised more than $2 billion during 2025 so far.
Athena Capital, a global investment platform that backs tech-enabled companies close to an IPO or strategic exit, has appointed Serena Dayal and Avi Golan have as investment partners.
A former Oppenheimer & Co financial advisor, Miguel Garcia, has joined Raymond James’ employee advisor channel, based in Miami, Florida. At Oppenheimer, he managed about $265 million of client assets. In his new role he is joined by senior registered client service associate Laura White.
Garcia, who began his career at Smith Barney in 1994, brings more than 30 years of financial services industry experience to his role as managing director. His experience is backed by a bachelor’s degree in economics from Universidad Complutense of Madrid, an MBA in finance from the University of Miami and the Accredited Asset Management Specialist® designation.
In North Carolina, financial advisor Ben Johnson has joined the firm’s independent advisor channel.
Fortress Investment Group has appointed Shara Wallace as distribution head for the central US states at its private wealth solutions business.
Wallace, who is based in Detroit, Michigan, reports to Adam Bobker and Nils Wilson, global co-heads of the private wealth solutions business. Wallace will be responsible for expanding relationships across wirehouses, RIAs, and private banks in their respective regions.
